Remember the joy of receiving new crayons at the start of a school year? For me, that joy has never worn off. I have been know to repeat on of my favourite mantras to all who will listen: "You can NEVER have too many crayons!!" I have always loved colouring, and still do take out a colouring book now and then! Pastel and coloured pencil allow me to play in a huge range of colours and to make bright, dramatic drawings. Easy to carry with a minimum of tools, this is the medium I take with me around the world when taking paint or larger media is impossible.
