TRADITIONAL LEADED

A technique where individual pieces of glass are cut and then held together with pieces of LEAD CAME which has grooves to hold the loose pieces of glass. The pieces of came are soldered together and then then whole piece is cemented to hold the glass firmly in place and prevent moisture and dirt from getting into the grooves and cracks. Finally, it is all polished with a granular powder called "whiting".
